Comments: An excellent course. Starts with 1.5 miles of uphill (+500 ft), then drops that elevetion for the next 2-3 miles, flattening by mile 7. From there it climbs slightly for the next four miles until the finish (the race is 11 "+" miles) but there are numerouse 20+ foot hills on that return leg. Miles 3-5 are beautiful, following a winding gravel road through pine trees through which the Palouse hills can be viewed. The only problem is the heat. It hit 80 by 8:30 (about an hour into the race). As a result, my time and that of several other runners was +10 minutes over last year. Hopefully it will be cooler next year. Plus we need a few more participants to make it interesting.
Look for the grumpy old 3-legged dog guarding the farm yard at mile 9. And don't come too close.
