Comments: The inagural Blue Monkey Marathon was free and by word of mouth only. The course was from the Adventist church outside of Troy, along the yet unfinished Latah Trail (4 miles of gravel and a 40 yard mud hole), through Moscow, then along Chipman Trail to Pullman for the Finish at the Ball fields. Post race picnic at
Reaney Park. 10 entrants, with 5 finishing the full marathon and another five going for half. The race was marred by a steady 10-knot west wind throughout. It was tough sledding, especially on the second half. We may choose to make the race public next year and use it for a fund raiser for the Latah and other trails.
