Comments: Not a bad little race put on by that laid-back race director, Bill Chambers (Also a Blue Monkey), the head of the Seaport Striders. It's a pretty simple race. Start at the bottom of the hill. Run up the Spiral Hiway. Stop at the top for a beer and gander at the view. It's 2000 feet up and 8 miles. A 9:00/mile pace will get you there in 72 minutes. The winners usually get there in 53 minutes or so. They take off like it's a 5k or something. I have run down it before, but that's a lot harder on the legs. I don't recomend it. Catch a ride with one of the striders. 30 runners usually attend, and it's a good tune-up for the CDA Marathon. I recommend it just so you can say you did it.
