2006 Tour de Lentil

The Tour de Lentil is a loop ride from Pullman to Colfax and Palouse, and back. That would be wonderful if it didn't start at 9:00am (a bit late) in late August (91 degrees). We had five monkeys that rode, and another 4 or 5 that supported the race at aid stations. Most of the riders had a great day, Bobby Mo and Flash were near the lead pack for most of the race and finished in 3:25 or so. Dwyer finished near 4:00. Bryan McD took it easy escorting a friend, and Foo (the author) had the worst of it. He Limped in at 10mph either dehydrated or with an elyctrolite imbalance, and a very high heart rate.

Only Ken Workman brought a camera, so we only have these two pictures at the finish, with only two of the monkey riders.

Thanks again to Dan Vollmer and his wife for running the Onecho Church aid station, Colleen MacDonald for running the Colfax aid station, and Angela Capelo and Kim Yachzee (sp?) for running the Palouse aid station.

Monkey Crew: at the finish.

Dead Monkey: Foo finished at a quarter to three, at the peak of the heat. Took him a half hour to get off the ground. You will notice that he fell pretty close to the bike.
