The Portland Marathon, 1 Oct 2006

Pretty good marathon by 5 Blue Monkeys -- the most to enter a marathon yet. Portland is known as the best-organized marathon on the west coast. Probably true. See our review.
Three Amigos @ Dusty: We three went over on Friday. Dizer took his family on Saturday. Here we are using all the availble facilities @ Dusty.

John Day Dam: Short rest stop at John Day Dam. We took 14 on the north side of the Columbia just for a scenic change.

Street Car: I can't remember the name of Portland's downtown transit system. There were actually two systems. One just went a couple blocks north and south. The other went from Hillsboro, through downtown, and out to Gresham. Pretty cool system and it was all free downtown (maybe just on the weekends). Here we are trying to map out the system.

Awaiting the Street Car: Here we've completed our Friday night shopping and trip to the expo and await the street car back to the hotel.

Tattoos: Jason got a tattoo pen. The monkeys only ran a little from sweat by the end of the race. Mine looked like blue blobs on my knees.

Pre-Race Dinner: Downtown at Rock Bottom. Pretty Good Porter. Plus the waitress accepted our button.

On the Street Car, Again: Heading back to the hotel after dinner.
